Community Entrance Sign Update – County Extension Granted
The Board of Directors would like to share the news that the county has given us another and final extension for the Entrance Sign Project. Our focus will be the larger Entrance Sign on the westside of Fawn Ridge Blvd. We are currently working with our sign vendor to acquire everything we need for a variance request for a sign approximately 6ft tall x 6ft-8ft wide. It will look similar to the other sign on the eastside, but larger and without a topper. I’ll be making a few concepts for the community to give input in the upcoming weeks, so please send me any suggestions you may have. Below is the mockup and placement that we used for the proposal extension request.

The board is also looking into options for either an arch that goes over Fawn Ridge Blvd. and/or 3 flag poles on the West Side Entrance Area. The flags for these three poles would be an American Flag, the State Flag, and a Community Flag. We are open to everyone’s thoughts, so please let us know what you all think.
Update: 04/07/2023
The variance hearing was held on February 27th before Hearing Master, Susan Finch. In summary, Addie Mentry of Creative Sign Designs requested 2 sign variances to reduce the setbacks lines for the northeast corner of Citrus Park Drive Extension and Fawn Ridge Blvd to accommodate a freestanding monument sign that is approximately 9 square feet and 8’6″ tall.
On March 20th, a decision was determined and the variance request was approved. Thank you to all the volunteers that helped out in the process.
Also, Hillsborough County has agreed to extend the reimbursement period until mid-November for the sign completion. This allows us to look at the current sign design proposed by Creative Sign Designs and makes some modifications if need be.
If you are interested in proposing a modification to the design based on the criteria that the sign cannot be any larger than what it is currently, please contact the Board of Directors at bod@fawnridge.org or our property manager at cmclark@wisepropertymanagement.com with your proposal, thoughts, or ideas.
